About Cacao

Cacao was first domesticated in South America over 5,000 years ago, and is considered on of nature’s “superfoods”. According to the European Food Safety Authority, “cacao favinoids help maintain the elasticity of blood vessels, which contributes to normal blood flow.”

According to WebMD, “The fiber in cacao promotes healthy digestion and reduces the risk and symptoms of some digestive problems. Cacao is rich in flavonoids. These nutrients have been shown to help lower blood pressure, improve blood flow to the brain and heart, and may aid in preventing blood clots”

“The flavonoids in cacao may help increase insulin sensitive, reducing risk of diabetes.”
Cacao is also rich in potassium. “Potassium has been shown to decrease risk of heart disease by reducing body inflammation and stress on cells”
